This is totally amazing. With the Robodance program, i-SOBOT can be remotely controlled and programmed by computer. The program is run by creating a simple script using on screen dialog boxes.

The software can handle other robots, and even include voice commands.

Did you see the i-sobot control with the WII remote? I think that's a pretty hot ticket for some more fun and a great way to get away from the standard remote which is multiplexing too many commands to make it fun to use...

Yes, I saw it and it's certainly an amazing way to control i-SOBOT. It reminds me of those movements made by VR suits. You move your hand, finger, arm in a certain way and the robot responds correspondingly. Maybe the WII can be incorporated into a suit in a similar way?

OK, so let me get this straight. You need:

for general control
1. I-Sobot
2. Robodance
3. USB-UIRT
4. USB Bluetooth transceiver if computer does not have one built in

for Wii Control
1. I-Sobot
2. Robodance
3. USB-UIRT
4. USB Bluetooth transceiver if computer does not have one built in
5. Wii controller
6. Nunchaku controller

Is this correct? Or do you leave out the bluetooth transceiver for general control. I am not sure.

It depends on which features you want from the Robodance software, i.e. control 1 or 2 i-SOBOTs, utilize voice or not, Wii, etc. The system is not a Bluetooth system but rather uses infrared communications. Also, it does not use the infrared irDa standard that's built into laptop computers, so that's why the usb-uirt is needed to transmit the signals.

The options can be reviewed here:

Details of the basic setup are described here:

I see. You use the bluetooth adapter for the Wii.

Anyone in the forum here, controlling i-SOBOT with the Wii? It would be useful to know the setup on the BlueTooth. The new T60 laptop has it built in and I see an icon application for finding all BlueTooth devices. It includes Entire BlueTooth Neighborhood, BlueTooth Exchange, My Devices and a Setup Wizard.

Hi, I have just purchased an I-sobot all seems fine with the robot but the remote comes on functions fine for about 3 seconds and then the screen fades and it loses power?
Please can anybody help with what may be wrong?
Could it be a capasitor or dry joints which are the problem?
Any help appreciated.
