Hi,

I just changed from a Windows-based terminal to Linux but am not sure how to connect to the RoBoard. My setup is this:
cabling: Linux PC - USB-to-Serial cable (Prolific) - RoBoard COM1 port
software:
Linux PC runs a 12.04 Ubuntu
RoBoard runs a 10.04 Linux

In Windows I had to run a Prolific driver tool first to swith the USB-to-Serial voltage to 3V to make it compliant with the RoBoard. I guess I need to do that on Linux, as well, right? But how?

Once I got this, how do I establish a terminal in my Linux PC to the RoBaord?

Thanks for your support,

Marsman

Hi,

You should not need to do that.

Just open cutecom app on both side with same configuration and try to exchange, it should work.

To install cutecom :
sudo apt-get install cutecom

Hi,

thanks a lot. It works. I am using CuteCom with the /dev/ttyUSB0. Setting to XMODEM gives me the "normal" output where I can login to my RoBoard etc.

Now my next challenge is to get the WLAN on RoBoard to connect to my new network at home. I had issues in the past but let me see if I can get it running.

Thanks a lot,

Marsman
