Hii limor

here more info about its
Zii Egg: A development board for handheld devices.Actually a smartphone based on ZMS-05.
Zii Trinity: 3.5G smartphone and development platform ( ZMS-05)
Zii Sivo: A High Definition media player hardware reference design based on ZMS-08.
Zii Lionfish: 11.6″ Video conferencing reference platform powered by ZMS-08 media processor.

Upon purchase of the devkit, Zillabs will also provide the schematics, gerbers files, design Files, bill of materials (BOM), the Mechanical drawings, 3D CAD model as well as the board support package and software development kit.

For full details about all those development boards, check out Ziilabs Hardware Platforms page.

Only the Zii Egg can be purchased online (but the link is not working right now) for other development platforms and platform projects you’ll need to contact Ziilabs first.

currently has no online shop, are a relatively new platform Jan 2012 in the next link fin more info some

here's the answer i got from zii:

Our business direction has changed somewhat and our focus is on supporting our ZMS-20/40 (dual and quad core A9 Cortex application processors) to high volume Android 4.x consumer tablets based on our Jaguar platform reference designs.

Sorry that we are unable to support you at this time.

Best regards

Have you found any reference for use of opencv with that A10 cpu platform ?
i found this thread that says there may not be hardware floating point on the A10

Just bought (and received) the Mini X - came in just about - very impressive - £51 including postage !

The box in white is an Omnima EmbWifi board for comparison - the miniX is shorter and 1/2 width. On the left is a Microsoft webcam Vx100 mounted on a servo (bluetack) and of course a robobuilder on the right

Hi l3v3rz

Would you mind checking speed of simple face detection?

If you installed ubuntu with X11 so you should be able to compile all the opencv with no problem. there may even be an apt-get version of opencv for A8.

Thanks Nicols for the great links!

This blog covers a lot of data about the Allwinner A8 devices:
http://www.cnx-software.com/category/pr ... x-a10-a13/

also has a link to a creepy video taken in a China sweatshop that makes these android media devices

https://www.miniand.com/forums/forums/2/topics/1

Here at Miniand we have been hard at work getting Linux images working on the MK802, and we have just successfully built Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Lubuntu images.

The current version of the images support Wifi and OpenGL, and the lightweight versions Lubuntu and Xubuntu run quite well.

It is sold under 2 brands: MK802, Zero Devices Z802. on aliexpress is runs for under 70USD . Bill of materials is estimated at 20$ so we should expect the prices to go down.
This seems like the perfect robotics companion especially if someone manages to get the Mali400 to do some useful floating point co-processing.
But we are yet to see what the opencv processing speed capabilities are.
