Someone made a 3D printable harmonic drive

Harmonic drives are mechanical gear systems that have some very nice properties such as no backlash, high gear ratios, and being able to hold their position without power

They are what power ASIMO's joints and industrial robots and cost thousands of dollars.

This model combines 3D printed parts with off-the-shelf mechanical motion parts such as ball bearings.

Advantages of home based business: By doing a home based business you can spend more time with you family, have more time to enjoy, there is also no any hurry to get ready for the office.

Initially I wondered about durability (mixing metal/plastic)
but then of course - you can just re-print to replace.
really nice and well demonstrated.
