So excited ! Just received a Mini Darwin for review. I will report the basic functions, how to program it, etc.

Do drop a word here if there is anything about it you like to know.

Robotis Mini Darwin Review Part 2

This video shows how to control a Mini Darwin using an Android device via bluetooth. The app is only in Korean at the moment. You can tell the robot to walk and do other stuffs by pressing buttons on the app. It also uses the gyro sensor and voice recognition on the Android tablet to tell the robot what to do.

This is not the review video but is a good laugh.

I do!
Any additional info that has not been already made public, gotchas, etc are of interest for me (Yeah, it's a little bit broad, I know).

Thanks for the review.

Could you describe how the kinematics of the mini compare to the Darwin OP and the Premium ?

Cool review, thanks!

So since the USB port is "under the hood", what is the recommended workflow to program it right now?
Is it possible to program it from the bluetooth connection?

It is hard to compare the kinematics with the Darwin OP because Darwin OP generate its gait on the fly (I think). I would imagine the mini's motion is similiar to the Bioloid. Though I will have to see the code to be sure.

You can drill a small hole to get to the USB for convience. At the moment, I do not see an app to upload code via bluetooth. I will have to search around to see if there are other apps to download.

Hi,
Is it possible to program Darwin Mini to be totally autonomous?
So it has it's own personality etc ? (Similar to a sony aibo or qrio)
Does the voice recognition only work through the smartphone app, or is it possible to add voice recognition to the robot itself?

EDIT.

Is it possible to include AIML into the programming, and allow the robot move with responses etc ?
Would the programming allow the robot to remember responses etc ?
