I recognise that Biolid

As far as Specs of the Bioloid go it is a standard Bioloid build (according to the June 06 user guide) with a mix of AX12 and AX12+ servos. Bluesmirf bluetooth link is installed according to PEV’s wonderful hack.

It is controlled using a wireless XBOX controller. There are dongle and drivers that you can buy that enable the wireless XBOX controller to be used on a PC. This is what I used - and created some custom software to catch the state of the wireless XBOX controller buttons, then check if the buttons match any of the programmed buttons – and then send a command via Bluetooth to the Bioloid. Screenshot below.

Combinations of all joystick buttons are configurable (e.g. Pressing red A button and the Right on the directon pad will result in a different robot sequence to pressing the A button and a Left). I have not calculated it yet but there will be a huge number of button combinations.

The custom software can control either a Biolid or Robonova (although not at the same time).

If anyone is interested in using the software then you are welcome have copies of the executable (unfortunately I do not own key parts of the code so I will not be able to offer the source code). But you will need an XBOX controller (with PC dongle) and the Bluetooth installed on either a Biolid or Robonova.
Statistics: Posted by BillB — Mon Jul 02, 2007 4:59 pm
