If it can be hacked I dont see why not. It has a very very low center of gravity being so small and If you add weight to it(providing the servos can handle more weight) It would be hard for a much taller bot to knock over. And it would be in a great position height wise to knock over a taller bot.

For such a low price i think it may worth a try. Even if you screw it up you with still have some useful cool parts left over.

yeah. the hop-up kit idea sounds kind of hopeful. I just think that the small size would make it so coool to customize and compete with.

I'm not sure I would want to hack it for the servos...

The control electronics might be useful ....but only if Tomy sell spare control boards?

Well with the very small size your looking at some small custom servos - so your not likely to see any servos that fit from the typical servo companies - Hitec, Futaba, etc. You also don't have much room for electronics or sensors. Now there is supposedly an iSobot coming with vid cam built in sometime after the first roll-out.

It's hard to say maybe TOMY will come out with add-ons and hop ups, you see them for the micro R/C cars

I was reading the article about the i-sobot in robot, and watching videos and stuff. I was wondering what can be expected of it in terms of customization. It seems almost more like a toy than most of the humanoids available. It would probably be difficult to hack.
