Do you think a high speed wireless interface is really necessary?. I am using a 1.1 Bluetooth and have found it right for most purposes. It takes much less power than WiFi solutions. I have not tried BT2 though. Do you have in mind anything that requires high speed ?

I do not have plans to integrate ADC on the board. All I/O is digital. If an ADC is necessary it must be added to the board. For example, I use a Sharp IR detector that is interfaced through an ADC. However there is no ADC on the board itself. The CPU itself has no ADC.
Statistics: Posted by inaki — Fri Mar 17, 2006 8:20 pm

In terms of pwm servos, 24 sounds like an ok number including 17 original ones, 4 for the grippers and 2 for the chest extension.

I would add at least 8 A2D ports. an A2D multiplexer can be used if the CPU doesnt have many A2Ds but supports fast A2D rates.

what CPU were you thinking of using?
what about fast wireless communications (wifi / bt2) ?
Statistics: Posted by limor — Thu Mar 16, 2006 5:18 pm

I am working in a new controller for the KHR1 that manages directly the servos instead of relying on the old RCB1.

I am making a provision for 24 servos 'only'. Accounting for all the extensions available for the KHR1, how many servos do you think is possible to have in a KHR1 (I mean even with the new hand girippers!).
Statistics: Posted by inaki — Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:47 pm
