If you want to do autonomous operation using the shipped board, go with Bioloid. Bioloid seems like a good choice for autonomous things.
Statistics: Posted by 1UpCheatachu — Thu Sep 06, 2007 2:29 am

I know this has been asked several times but I need your help figuring out which bot to buy. I am new to robotics but not new to electronics. I am fluent in C and Basic and have developed 100s of PIC based projects.

I have about $4000 to spend and want to start right. My goal is complete autonomous operation (this is the eventual goal but just getting the bot to walk is still my first goal).

So RoboNova, KHR-1, KHR-2HV, Manoi, Bioloid? It is obvious that the RN1 is the most popular but is it possible to utilize sensors with the shipped controller board?

Anyone want to help spend my money? Gimme a list of what you would buy including bot platform and all the sensors you would suggest like gyros, cameras, ultrasonic, etc.

The Bioloid expert kit seems pretty inclusive and the networked servos make sense....but maybe its overkill.

Thanx in advance
Statistics: Posted by Photronix — Thu Sep 06, 2007 2:25 am
