No real deadline. Also part of the point of getting the robot kit was to learn programming-one of the requirements, actually. I will still look through all of the kits. Robonova is probably your best choice based on the low price, ease of programming new moves, and the large English speaking support community. The three kits that I would look at are the Robonova-1, KHR-1HV and the Manoi AT01. I have fought the Bioloid with my Robonova-1 and I was not that impressed. I have not seen the KHR-1HV or the Manoi AT01 in action but I think both would be good fighters. The AT01 may have the fastest and most fluid movements. For a person just getting into Robots the RN is the best. I did not think that the RN is slow and clumsy. I have some attack moves that are very fast and a run that is fast too. I think that you will have to modify any kit that you buy. Any fighting robot needs gyro’s and an a accelerometer. You have a dilemma.<br /><br /><br />The RN / KHR have a better body design and can do more flowed motion but the control board sucks on both models.<br /><br />The Bioloid has good programming feathers e.g. you can program it in C and do other cool things with those digital servos. but the body design isn't as good as the above.<br /><br />So you could ever get something like the KHR and design a new control board or just get the Bioloid and work with in the frame work which is what I would do.<br /><br />The Robovie looks good but as no one on this forum or anywhere else I've looked has one you would be on your own and I suspect that the control board will be as bad as the KHR, with means that you can't really program it your self your have to use there own programming interface.<br /><br />Bren<p>Statistics: Posted by <a href="http://forum.robosavvy.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=216">Robo1</a> — Tue Nov 06, 2007 11:36 am</p><hr />

Hi everybody, I'm new here and I'm also very excited about the idea of getting into humanoid wrestling. I've been looking for a good starting kit, and have been looking at two different kits in particular-the Robonova-1 and the Robovie-M V3. I am really looking for a kit that is very capable without any modifications, such as the Robovie. I understand that the Robonova is cheaper, but I also understand that it is very slow and clumsy as compared to the Robovie. I am not looking at spending a large amount of money on modifying a kit once I build it so that it has more capabilities. I am actually looking at these kits for a school project, working with biomimetics.
