Robonova or KHR-2HV for beginner

For my two cents worth, I think Robonova is fantastic, and each humanoid has its own great advantages. I had to weigh all the elements offered, and chose this one. If you don't want any programming, so to speak, the new i-SOBOT is a radical bot doing many preprogrammed movements. These movements are strung together by using a controller. This is also called programming, but is very simple by comparison. Moving on to compare other humanoids, the software is really good in Robonova, imo. Actually I read both pages of reviews on your website and it was very helpful. It was a great starting place and gave me a good idea of all the different options available. Very clean.

Like I mentioned, the Genex suit and superior servos really make me like the Kondo's but on the other hand everyone seems to think the Robonova is better for beginners, and a beginner I am. I don't have a formal electronics or programming background but I really like tinkering with stuff, and this seems right up my alley. I'm not worried so much about the hardware side as I am about the software side. I'd like to be able to program my robot to do random, simple things and I'm wondering if my lack of programming knowledge will significantly hinder me. I switched from CS to business a year into college and I guess that decision has finally come around to bite me in the ass! Of course, I'm willing to learn.

I have a feeling I'm going to end up purchasing the Robonova due to its larger, English speaking user community.

The decision on which robot to buy really depends on what you want to do with it, and how much of a beginner you really are. Both robots cost about the same, but the KHR-2HV comes with an extra servo for the head, plus the servos are faster and stronger than the Robonova. However, the Robonova is considered by some folks to be easier to use, and has a larger English speaking user base than the KHR-2HV, in case you have questions.

Robonova or KHR-2HV for beginner

Hi guys,

I'm trying to decide on my first robot kit. I just recently discovered that these things exist and have been totally blown away. I really want one!!! I've got no experience with a project this advanced but I am pretty technically inclined and I've built and maintained electric RC cars so hopefully there is some parity there.

After a lot of forum reading and searching words like "beginner, novice and recommendation", I've narrowed my search down to the Robonova and the KHR-2HV.

Can you guys please tell me which one you'd recommend for a beginner? I'll be honest, one of the main reasons I like the Kondo so much is because of the Genex suit but other than that I think I could go either way.
