At Robosavvy we use a "bridge" to unify the authentication system with joomla and phpBB

However unfortunately this method does not work 100%.... The issues you mention are a known issue with our system at Robosavvy.

About 1 year ago we worked hard on the integration to overcome a lot of annoying behaviours but this one is still the only one left behind.

If you'd like please send me a Private Message with the changes you want to apply and I'll apply them on the backend.

I hope this works for now.

We are looking at upgrading the whole system to Joomla 1.5 and phpBB 3 and by then we expect all these issues to be solved.
