Robonova or Bioloid or other?

I would, as a suggestion, consider the Robobuilder. It is a great robot, which I think competes nicely with the features of the Bioloid. But it has a much lower price point. Just my 2cents... take some time and check out some of the posts in the Robobuilder section of the forum. I think you might be surprised at what you find! =)

its really a personal decision, but i would suggest the bioloid kit since its got a high 're-use-value', where as the robonova (to my knowledge) needs to be 'hacked' to become anything besides a humanoid

I have RN-1, Comprehensive Bioloid, and Robobuilder, they are all great and all a continual learning experience. In my opinion the Bioloid does now have the most flexibility, manufacturer comitment, and currently most supportive user community. So having seen it, I would recommend the new Premium as the best option to learn and develop.

I might change my recommendation if your intention was mainly competition, since I do find the Bioloid a bit "ploddy". However, this stability does have the major benefit during learning where you do spend more time in a more motivational vertical humanoid state.

I own both the RN-1 and the Bioloid Premium, both great robots. I think there is more opportunity to learn and expand upon the Bioloid. Robotis with their new very diversified software supports both those that are new to robotics and programming and those that are very experienced.

Hello All,
I have a Robosapien v1 which I enjoy using on occasion and want something that does a LOT more, lol. I scratch build RC construction equipment and I have electronics background so, a humanoid robot looks right up my alley... I would rather save enough to get the best right off the bat and the bioloid premium kit seems like a good one? For around $1,200 US dollars is there some other kit that I should consider? I don't have much programing experience but, I have the patience to learn.
