Thanks for your feedback Limor. Any ideas to whom shall I contact from micromouse Birmingham? and is it possible to "extend" the UK humanoid meeting to include this event, may be people from this forum who organise the humanoid gathering can participate in it too.
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Tue Jun 22, 2010 9:36 pm

You may want to look at linking it with another international robot event in order to attract more people. In UK there were several humanoid meetings that piggy-backed on micromouse events taking place in Birmingham where a symbiotic relationship evolved. the space for the humanoids races was given for free in order to attract people to the micromouse event
Statistics: Posted by limor — Tue Jun 22, 2010 9:11 pm

Being a robot hobbyist for three years now, it has always been my dream to participate in a Robocup soccer tournament, but I am finding it very difficult to do so for the following reasons:

1. Very expensive to participate unless you have a sponsor
2. Difficult to keep up with fast changing rules unless you are part of a big team.

Sharing the same principles and ideas was Billyzelsnack, so together we decided to start a project which we called Amateur Robocup Soccer League. The rules are similar to robocup soccer rules for 2007 (2 robots per team, lenient foot size etc.) but with some twists to make it more accessible to hobbyists and enthusiasts, like for example a smaller playing area so that everyone can put up his own at home for testing algorithms.

We would like to have some feedback from the members in this forum, mainly:

1. Whether you are interested in participating in a similar league,
2. Any suggestions to make especially regarding sponsorships, venues and also some rules you might want to implement .

Thanks, and any feedback on this is really appreciated.

Charles
Statistics: Posted by JavaRN — Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:23 am
