Probably there are tests with really autonomous armed robots but currently it seems that they are radio-controlled.

I think that both options used against humans are even more unethical that common conventional war, it's like firing against undefended/unarmed people (they have no chance to use their guns).

I know that historically there had been very similar situations, or worse, like nuclear or chemical weapons (WMD), but I find this new way of "telekilling" o telecontrolling, in such an "clean & easy" way, very disturbing.
Statistics: Posted by siempre.aprendiendo — Sat Aug 25, 2012 1:04 am

Yet again, human ignorance baffles me. Humans as a whole fear the unknown, and for most robotics is unknown. Now it is something to fear when a "robot" can kill a human undetected. But is there not a human controlling said robot? Does this make the Predator Drone nothing more than a glorified gun? It is foolish to blame a weapon when all it can do is wait for human contact. The blame is on whoever decides to pull the trigger, wherever the chain of command may end. But do you see anyone trying to stop the human committing the kill? Not likely, as long as someone can claim that it was justified.
Statistics: Posted by serithseraki — Fri Aug 24, 2012 4:46 am

The laws of robotics are taken from an idealistic piece of literature. Given the ability of most societies and governments to ignore or mutate the laws of their own claimed Gods, it would be surprising if this contravention of the laws of robotics was of any concern.
Statistics: Posted by i-Bot — Fri Aug 24, 2012 12:02 am
