Understood and agreed. You could get it and take it apart, THEN build it...
Statistics: Posted by slashsplat — Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:12 am

Thanks for the heads up. I will explore the site more thoroughly..

Why do I want one? Well I have always "built" things. My leggo collection is rediculous, used to build robots and fight with my friends using (man I forgot the name) but it had basic servos that had toggles, kinda had hex push together parts.. It was space themed.. LOVED it.. Did the RC helicopter thing and am a tech geek. I want a new challange. (at 34 years old...lol) I am going to talk to the pal I used to build with (were still friends) and see if he will buy a kit and then It is ON.. gloves off to the metal death... lol

Livemix
Statistics: Posted by livemix — Sun Jan 07, 2007 6:25 am

livemix wrote:
I see so many options for kits and am a bit overwhelmed. ... I like the idea if the KHR-2 being able to have gyros.. Livemix

All of the current breed have servos available. Continue reading the site and you will get the answers you are looking for.

Personally, I got a MANOI, as I think it is the latest technolgy. Uses a very recent controller board (with integrated servo connector - unlike the KHR) and has a cool body. All in all, they seem to be at roughly the same level, with the RN-1 having the biggest crop of addons and apprently the biggest installed base.

What are your reasons for wanting one? Exactly?
Statistics: Posted by slashsplat — Sat Jan 06, 2007 10:32 pm

Hi,
KHR-2, RoboNova-1, Manoi, and KHR-1HV all can take gyros, the KHR-1 takes gyros but uses a different gyro and setup. The question of "which one is best" has been answered in the general page before, so you might want to look back at them. Have you built, and/or programed robots before?

thanks
--srobot

**--Edit--**
Thank you Lem for pointing out my mistake!

--srobot
Statistics: Posted by srobot — Sat Jan 06, 2007 10:17 pm

I see so many options for kits and am a bit overwhelmed. Can I get some advice as to what might be good to start with. I am very technical and computer savvy, so I don't want to get into something that will leave me wanting more.. I like the idea if the KHR-2 being able to have gyros.. Any advice will be much appreciated.. This site is great.

Livemix
Statistics: Posted by livemix — Sat Jan 06, 2007 9:56 pm
