eBay insisted on using exactly the same systems and approach here in Japan that they use in the US, and didn't listen to the customers at all. So their marketshare dropped, they got a bad reputation, and pulled out of the market.

There was one MANOI AT01 kit listed on the Japanese Yahoo Auction site a few weeks ago. There may have been more, but I don't check it regularly.

They take a long, long time to make a decision, but once it's made they move ahead quickly.

That puts a lot of pressure on folks to get moving. I've been giving a lot of serious thought to the autonomous category, though I'll probably just stick with the RC and demonstration events.

Official sales just started today (September 30th) here in Japan. I was at Tsukumo this afternoon buying some spare batteries for mine, and trying to buy some gyros (that's another story). They had a whole line of MANOI AT01 boxes on the shelf behind the counter with customer names taped on them waiting for pickup, and said that the interest and inquiries have been much more than they expected.
