It seems that Bioloid have now a very serious competitor

It's cheaper and the software and docs looks pretty good (I have been downloading, reading and testing it a little).

If the parts are so good as they seem in the photos it will be a very good kit!

My only doubt is if the easy new construction system (with only a few bolts) is as sturdy as using bolts...

Free Offer: Distance Sensor for Robobuilder 5710K

Hi

My name is Pedro and I've come to work with Robosavvy and Limor a few months ago.
I have been involved in Robobuilder's release and I would like to explain something about our Robouilder offer which was not clear on the website initially:

As part of our pre-release campaign, we are offering this:
- 15% discount for the first 20 units (we decided to extend the offer from first 10 to first 20 given the good customer response)
- Free Distance Sensor/Obstacle Detection kit.

If you look at the 5710Ks specs you will see that it DOES NOT include the distance sensor; it only includes the sound sensor.
However we decided to offer the distance sensor kit for free. This means that the "Robobuilder 5710K+Distance Sensor" we are selling (for 280.50 GBP) is feature compatible with the Bioloid in that they are both humanoids that have a the Distance Sensor a the Sound Sensor.

Our friends in Singapre at http://amainobj.com who also have extensive business around Robotis, KHR etc., have already been using the kits for a while and have nothing but good things to say about it including impeccable manufacturing quality and great versatility in servo assembly joints and programmability. The servos and the patented servo joints have been around for about 4 years branded under Megarobotics and were sold at very high price only to universities.

In terms of comparison to other products, it is always a challenge to compare apples to oranges. In this case the closest comparable is the Bioloid. See the previous posts on this forum.

The cost of shipping to the US is somewhat high because Robosavvy ships package from UK using Parcelforce (=EMS =USPS) which is a 4 day service, tracked and reliable. They still haven't figured out after all these years a cheap package services between the Empire's HQ the colonies .

However, since we are committed to this promotion the online store has been set to charge 60GBP shipping fee for US for pre-orders of Robobuilder 5710K. A reduced shipping rate has also been set for most European countries.

This means that for US customers Robobuilder costs:
280.50 GBP for the humanoid kit
60 GBP for the shipping
No VAT is charged since the shipping address is outside the EU.

Total including shipping to USA: 340.50 GBP ( about US$680 )

I'd love to be one of the first to own this bot, but the shipping cost to the US is very expensive. It's more than the discount you're offering, and you're offering a huge discount! Is there any way to offer cheaper shipping choices?
