2 new bracket kits will be for sale from Robotis. One bracket kit being the one at RoboGames 2008, the other being the Robo-One upgrade here:

I'm not sure if they will be sold as an upgrade, a full robot, or both.

Hi Sonic

They seem to be going after the Bioloid very hard.
This is why I think they are releasing this kit (since Robotis announced a similiar kit a few weeks ago).

I don't really think there is a problem with their joint system.
They were involved in megarobotics which also had some form of joint-insert assembly system so I trust they have a lot of experience. It is also why this product, being a first from the company, seems already so mature in terms of features (ie a second generation humanoid).

I see what you mean...about the brackets....but I think you get what you pay for...I think RoboBuilder is an excellent base kit to build on....metal brackets are a welcome addition...which I will buy...at some point in the future.

We just received the annoucement from Robobuilder that they will be releasing a metal brackets set for HUNO (the humanoid).
According to Robobuilder, the brackets set is aimed at helping the customers who want to enjoy more robust structure in order mainly to participate in robot competitions.

The video also shows off some really cool and fast Robobuilder motions. This seems to demonstrate that the weight added by the metal brackets does not impact the robot's speed or balance/weight distribution.

The release dates are not yet announced but from what we could see, this still a prototype so we need to wait a couple of months. I will keep posting news on this.
