Hi Jivesinger

The 5710/5720 come with 16 actuators as you may already know.
These are the base for any construction.

The kit also includes several plastic parts and joints (Joint set 1 and 2) that let you build many other constructions, besides the Humanoid, Dog and Dinossaur.
I can't detail specifically how many come in each kit but I know that, after assembling the Humanoid, there are a lot of plastic parts and accessories left.

If you are looking into building your own custom creations, the 5710-E02 (the Beginner's kit) includes even more spare plastic parts and 12 smaller documented constructions.
It has about 1.5X the plastic parts that come in the normal 5710/5720 but some specific parts are missing (like the chest part for the humanoid and the metal plates for the feet) and only 8 servos.

I have been working extensively with Robobuilder developing DLLs to perform control of the Robot from the PC (please look in the forum for Remocon replacement and wCK protocol reverse engeneering). You can download VB code and play around with it from the forum threads.
I must say the kit behaves very well and is practically at the level of the Bioloid. For hobby I would definitely recommend it as you get very good value for money.

If you would like to learn more about the Beginner's kit and the 5710/5720 Humanoid, check the Robosavvy store here http://robosavvy.com/store/advanced_sea ... obobuilder

About the 5730K I don't know of anyone who has bought it. It is essentially similar to all other Robobuilders except it includes more servos and I believe some extra plastic joints and parts.

In terms of the controller board and software it is the same in all robobuilders. The only difference is that in some models (like the 5720) the board includes an additional component for sound output.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Mon Feb 16, 2009 2:14 pm

Hi guys !
I'm completely new to robotics and very keen to jump in the deep end.
I have R/C and a little VB programming experience and keen to combine the two possibly when the Robobuilder implementation in MRDS matures.

A little research has led me to the Robobuilder which, unfortunately, seems to be very new and hence info on this product compared to others is thin on the ground, to the point of not being able to find out what exactly is in the different kits !

So, to anyone that can spare a few minutes.......

a) What comes in the 5710/5720 kits ? I know the 10 is black and the 20 is transparent with LED's, but are there any extra connectors or wheels and such to allow a little experimentation other than building the three bots on the box ?

b) Has anyone bought the Expert kit # 5730 ? Why / Why not ? Whats in it ?

I've been looking for answers to these questions for a week now. All I can find is the generic pdf's from Robobuilder which only give basic info on the number of actuators and the number of connection parts.

I've found a local (800Km away) supplier to ask, but his English speaking contact at Robobuilder is on her honeymoon.

Thanks in advance guys......
Statistics: Posted by Jivesinger — Mon Feb 16, 2009 2:13 am
