Hi

As a review here are the steps to use your computer's bluetooth module to comunicate with the robot:
- Set up a Bluetooth COMM port on your computer. The bluetooth port should be setup for SPP (Serial Port Profile)
- Turn on Robobuilder
- In your computer, start the app to discover other bluetooth devices.
It should find Robobuilder. If a PIN code is asked, enter 1234.

If the Robobuilder is not found, then you need to reprogram the module that goes into the Robot to "Mode 3".
To do it you need to use the Adapter board (serial2bluetooh) that came with the kit.
1) Extract the module that goes into the RBC and plug it into the board.
2) Downlaod and install the software available here: http://www.sena.com/download/software/s ... v2.0.1.exe
3) Connect the board to the computer
4) Start the program you downloaded and, under "Device Setting":
- Set it to Mode 3 (always discoverable)
- Set it to 115kbps.
- I believe you also need to set "Command response" to OFF (i'm not sure if it should be set to OFF or ON....)
5) Apply the changes, disconnect the board, a plug the bluetooth module back into the RBC.

Robobuilder should now be discoverable by your computer's bluetooth chip.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Sat Mar 14, 2009 3:33 pm

Hi Guys,

Finally got my Robobuilder 5730k kit the other day and have put the HUNO together and installed the Bluetooth and Accelerometer. The headers for the bluetooth board were already installed in my RBC. I just had to push it in. The accelerometer had to be soldered on though.

I was very impressed with how easily the kit went together, even though I was just coming off night shift and was on to my third beer before I started

My question is regarding the bluetooth module; I have bluetooth on my laptop and I configured it to a Com port which the Motionbuilder software finds OK, but it refuses to connect to the Bot.

I was sorta hoping to get out of buying a usb-to-serial adapter, but might have to to use the RB's serial-to-bluetooth dongle that was a part of the kit....??
Statistics: Posted by Jivesinger — Sat Mar 14, 2009 2:07 pm
