Hi Raymond

I see you have posted on a separate thread and iBot has direct you on how to do this.
I know for a fact he was able to get an 18dof configuration working,

Since your other post is from the 26th do you still need us (Robosavvy) to get more info from Robobuilder or have your questions been answered by iBot?

Thx
Pedro
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Sun Apr 26, 2009 9:08 pm

After numerous configurations to store a motion using a 18 DOF Robobuiler it is very apparent that despite the diagnostic tool verifying the servos are connected prperly as well as controlling all servos as expected in the Motion Builder. The saved motion when executed via the controller is irratic and 'Odd' almost damaging the servos. Therefore there is either somethign wrong with my controller Or the firmware is not saving the motion properly in flash memory.

Can someone in Robosavvy raise a ticket with Robobuilder to respond to this hypothesis as it is very confusing. Please note I have 3 controllers from Robobuilder and all behave in this fashion. Asa last ditch effort I will downgrade to 16 servo configuration and if this behaviour persists then I will give up on storing motions and controll the unit via msg packets dispatched from the PC.

Regards

Mark
Statistics: Posted by Raymond — Fri Apr 24, 2009 10:08 pm

Hi

We will be stocking these option parts soon.

They are essentially 2 aluminum brackets + 2 additional servos.

With regards to controlling the robot with the 2 additional DOF, the current knowledge I have is that there is no official downloadable motion fikle to do this.

Anyway, the basic idea is that you add 2 additional servos (maybe be ID 16 and 17 or any other ID up to 30)

Next, you download the base motion files (they are available for download here on the forum) and edit them to include the 2 additional DOF.

Finally you upload the modified motions to the robot controller (using any standard firmware)

To answer your question: currently that show sup in the manual as a form of "suggestion".
The first edition of the brackets will be coming by May 11th but we hvae no news about custom motion files for those 2 additional DOF yet.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Fri Apr 24, 2009 3:16 pm

Page 36 of the RoboBuilder (Huno) manual sketches out an upgrade mod, adding 2 additional servos for hip/waist movements.
I can find no details (e.g. servo IDs required) of this upgrade, nor any references to a software version that will control it.

Am I missing something, or is this just a "notion" rather than a tested and developed upgrade?

Help anyone please. Just built my first robot...
ATB
t
Statistics: Posted by tah1 — Fri Apr 24, 2009 2:28 pm
