Extra! as they say in France .. lol you think it will be sold in the store of RoboSavvy shortly.? I know it's l3v3rz he has produced. Finally I wonder if it could be sold to the public soon ..

Yes - but its more expensive.

In white is $10 + vat (Cheapest and just spray black)

Otherwise it comes in

1) "Blue Jeans", "Teracotta" or "limestone" $14.5 + vat

2) transparent, or black detail $15.9

You may even be able to order in in stainless steel - but I thinks that quite a bit more expensive.

I'm not associated with shapeways in anyway. I' just registered (for free) for their service - its works like any photo print service except it prints 3D. Also you can choose different materials I used the cheapest - but they have different types - including transparent and even metal now.

I did try sketchup - it looks very good, but seems more useful for buildings etc. If you do use sketchup, you can import them into blender and then export into a format that shapeways reads. Alternatively you can import the robobuilder 3D models into blender - and then hack them as a starting point which gets all the dimensions correct.

My model was created by se7ev who uses professional CAD software (and knows what he's doing) which is why it looks so good.

Shapeways.com looks like a great site to order 3D prototypes!
Can someone use Sketchup to do a design?
I saw you support Blender which is free but it is not as easy to startwith as sketcup.

The cost is about $50 + tax + shipping for the pair (thumb and finger). The material is paintable and I'm currently spraying mine with gold paint. It can easily hold the remote control and I'm currently trying to get it to toss as ping-pong ball - will post a video in the next few days

The parts are very tough and fit so well that it just clips on - but off course it also has holes in all the right places for screws.

The concept is great. The articulated thumb exploits the RoboBuilder servo beautifully. Front view is perfect.

The finger part from the side looks too lumpy. Maybe because it is white. Maybe some more defined fingers or some thing modernistic with a bit more profile ?

Length looks exactly right to fit with extra height from added hip joints.

Am interested !
