Hi

Yes, it is possible to add the sound capability to the 5710K black edition.
To do that you'll need to get a different controller box (RBC-08128YNN).

It is essentially similar to the control box that comes with the 5710K (RBC-08128NNN) but the YNN includes a sound processing chip and a speaker.
The cost for this additional part would be 54 GBP + VAT and you can get it from us at Robosavvy UK. It will have a 3~4 weeks delivery time though as we do not keep regular stock of it.

With regards to the 20 DOF build, you'll need the Standard 5710K Robobuilder and in addition you'll need:
a) Metal Brackets Kit - this includes the necessary additional metal brackets for the 3rd servo on the arms
OR
you can use an additional joint set to assemble the 2 additional servos on the arms.

b) Hip Pivot Kit with the 2x 1111 servos and metal gears for the hip

c) 2x 1108 servos for the arms.
You can get the 2 additional servos in the Spider Kit (which will include 2x 1108 servos + an additional joint)
OR
you can purchase 2x wck1108 separately in our store.
Indeed the Spider Kit may pose a better choice in terms of value for money.

Regards
Pedro
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Wed Jun 17, 2009 4:57 pm

Can you add the sound output feature of the 5720T to the 5710K? I don't think I really want/need the transparent and LED features but sound output seems useful, only the added cost of the 5720T seem like quite a lot for a speaker...

Also am I correct I thinking that when making the 20 DOF build, you get two extra DOF from the hip joint and the other 2 come from the spider kit servos?

Felix
Statistics: Posted by Felix — Wed Jun 17, 2009 12:31 pm
