Hi Nicolas

With regards to tweaking the PID settings on the servos do you mind sharing the experiments you're doing and the results you're getting?

We have palyed with the PID settings just once when writing some code to test the wCK protocol and were able to tweak the servos to have, for example, a more elastic behaviour.
Other settings just made the servos shake in an uncontrolled way.

. Are you getting improved performance from the servos?
. What is your goal when tweaking the PID settings?

We'd love to hear from your experiments!

Robosavvy
Statistics: Posted by robosavvy — Mon Nov 22, 2010 12:18 am

HI!!

Thanks for your interest and comments, now in the video can not be seen in the detail, but I already have added metal joints.

The instability seen in some movements is because I've been modifying the PID parameters of the WCK modules and so far I've picked up the Work Related software with motion builder.

phpBB [media]

Greetings and thanks again
Statistics: Posted by nicolas gomez — Wed Nov 17, 2010 8:30 pm

Hello Pedro !! again thank you very much for integrating the video, since I do not know how do it.

I did 4 metal pieces (aluminium of 2mm of thickness)

For the hip, place the 3 wck servos aligned, the central servo moves the torso of the robot therefore his axe looks up whereas the axes of servos of the sides look below(down) ,to make to turn every leg, the piece that joins these three servos was done by me placing the 3 sevos on a paper(role) of cardboard, then mark the position that was occupying each one , I advise to leave a space of 2 or 3 mm between(among) servos to be able to spend(pass) the cables, then use this template tu cut the aluminium.

To attach the hip with the leg use the jonit number 12, cutting these to obtain same squared form as like the jonit 5 preserving the alignment.

y make another two pieces to joint forearm and the arm
Statistics: Posted by nicolas gomez — Fri Aug 21, 2009 3:59 pm

Hi nicolas

I have embedded this new video in your post as well (I hope you don't mind that I edited your original post to embed the video).

The work you've done looks amazing.

I see there was a lot of custom fabrication.

With regards to the hip, I see you used your own metal parts.
Did you use any part of the Hip Pivot Kit we sell here at Robosavvy or did you just fabricate the whole metal part from scratch?
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Fri Aug 21, 2009 1:10 pm
