Hi atom182fr

Yes it is true that HaViMo 2 should work with Robobuilder.

However no additional details about how it will work are available at this time.

One alternative is replacing the whole firmware just like you do with HaViMo on Bioloid.

We are investigating the possibility of using the standard firmware and interacting with HaViMo using programming tools that interact with the PC (for example .Net or Robotics Studio).

One thing we can say for sure: HaViMo 2 does not work with ActionBuilder.
The manufcaturer has been working to make the module work with all other programming options besides WinAVR C.

Pedro.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Mon Jan 04, 2010 11:31 am

I use this :
1 x Micro Wireless Pinhole Color Camera + Video Receiver (CVAJM-007A-PAL) = 14.62 GBP

From ChinaVision - incredible cheap price. Runs off a 9V battery. I'd like to link to the main battery but its voltage is too low so I run of a separate battery at the moment. Anyone know an easy way to step from 6V to 9V ?

It transmits wirelessly to a receiver unit (included) that you feed into a PC video capture card (i.e. something like a TV card for instance)

range is quite short - and quality quite low ! A bluetooth based webcam would be much better but I haven't seen any.
Statistics: Posted by l3v3rz — Fri Dec 18, 2009 1:52 pm

Here is a small example of what I saw on youtube ..: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-MDIvT-O7U I wonder how it is to plug the wireless receiver to the camera his pc .. voila finally a camera that is very interesting and not expensive for the Robobuilder.

We agree there is no image processing. there's another thing I want to know .. how he has the power to connect his camera directly to a port Robobuilder. I am no expert and I do not like to experiment without some information ..

I think it must be based on that. an idea for image processing.?

AtoO ..
Statistics: Posted by Atom182Fr — Fri Dec 18, 2009 1:41 pm

Can you post a link to the video? I think there is an example using Microsoft Robotics System linked to a web cam on the robot. I have a cheap wireless camera attached to mine which I then feed into the PC. The PC then does the image processing and sends command back to the robot using the PC remote functionality. I use the Aforge library for video processing. Its simple to do object detection using colour filters for instance.

cheers
Statistics: Posted by l3v3rz — Fri Dec 18, 2009 12:40 am

One of the long-term goals for my robobuilder project is monocular vision, but I doubt that the atmega128 chip has the power needed.

I see three potential methods:

1) Settle for a very low resolution camera (128x128) which is interpreted directly by the robobuilder, [less effective]

2) Interface a dedicated board for camera decoding and perception to the atmega chip, [more expensive]

3) Have the robobuilder send images via bluetooth to your PC, decode them and sort out the instructions remotely. [not self contained, might be bandwidth limited]
Statistics: Posted by badcommandorfilename — Thu Dec 17, 2009 9:48 pm

Hello everyone!
excuse my English I am French. I develop for a long time since a project called "AtoBot Soccer. it is to play soccer two robots on a small lot to adapt to this use. I know that the Bioloid robot has a vision module to play football and recognize objects by color. you know how to do the same thing with the robotbuilder ..? I saw some video on youtube that shows Robobuilder with any kind of camera but I do not know how ..
if you have an idea I invite you to share! I know many of you are developing projects on the robot ..

thank you for voting help!
Statistics: Posted by Atom182Fr — Thu Dec 17, 2009 2:54 pm
