I dont believe the item{s} I saw were necessarily related to the 5710K! I was scanning the forum in general for potential problems as I do for anything I buy and may not even have been aware when I did the scan that there were two versions!

Your forum messages go quite a way back so a lot of the time messages will pop up in searches that relate to earlier incarnations!

I am very pleased with my purchase and I am looking forward to getting to grips with the basic functionality and then onward to some serious programming!

Hi Tom

You should have the ACC sensor already installed.
I believe if you press STOP+* simultaneously you enter "Auto Get-Up mode".

Do that and then lay the robot down. It should get up by itself.

This functionality is available on the latest firmware versions. Once again, make sure to check http://robobuilder.net for the latest versions.

As for the place for the speaker on the PCB they probably use the same PCB for both versions (with and without voice) and then just solder the features they need for each model.
Bear in mind that Speech Enabled Robobuilders have not only the speaker but also a "Voice Chip". Both the Voice chip and the speaker are not present on the controllers used in the 5710K.

As a final note, if you saw mentioned on the forum the 5710K would have speech output, please let us know where so we can correct that information.

OK Thanks not something I particularly wanted, but had seen it mentioned in posts in this forum whilst researching the robot before purchase!

When I fitted the BT module I did notice that it had a speaker grill, but was empty so just wondered if it should have been there!!

I believe that mine should have the accelerometer chip (bought 29th March) but that is not used in the standard movements! Is there a quick way I can check that it is there & functioning?

Hi,

I have a new 5710K which I have just finished constructing and is working to some extent (but see my other posts) but it doesn't make any sounds!!

I saw somewhere that it should speak when powered on! Is that correct and if so have I got a faulty controller??
