For SPI devices that don't require high-speed access, we are also studying a solution to generate 1K~100KHz SPI clock on RoBoard's SPI pins by software emulation. This may partly solve the problem that RoBoard's H/W SPI clock is too high.

When this feature is ready, we will add it to the next version of RoBoIO lib:)
Statistics: Posted by roboard — Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:46 am

Hi

As you may all have noticed, the SPI clock speed is typically too high for most sensors.
I believe it can only go as low as 100Mhz where for many devices you need something like 3Mhz, 5Mhz.

The solution we are currently proposing for the lower speed peripherals on the Roboard is to use a small interface board that connects to the USB bus and offers a Virtual SPI terminal.

The board is here http://robosavvy.com/store/product_info ... cts_id/563

Regards
Pedro.
Statistics: Posted by PedroR — Fri Dec 11, 2009 5:24 pm
