The WLAN card does take some power, but I can't remember how much- I remember it's significant. If it ends up being too much, I may do some other lower power wireless interface.

How are you finding the power consumption using the roboard and the WLAN card ? I am just about to convert one of my Robonovas across to use this new controller.

Thanks!!! That's the WLAN card- I wanted to see what the fit would look like with it on there, and to see about the WLAN antenna cable and possible antenna locations (note, I still need to take the sticker off the VT6655 chip!). I still need to load the drivers for the card, but I'm working on hardware, once I get my 'bot set up, I'll get back to working on the software, and get those drivers loaded.

I've debated on mounting the antenna up high so that he might be able to lay it down himself (reach behind his head and push it to lay it parallel to his shoulders), or connect a small servo to it, or just bolt it down low.

looking good, what MiniPCI card you plug in RoBoard, is WLAN card or ?

Two brackets machined from Teflon. Should give a little impact resistance. I plan to build a roll cage from Teflon for it as well. I also plan to form a backpack from polycarbonate, that should be fun w/ the negative angles...
