Be warned that once you attach servos your Roboard may reboot during the peak drain if the servos face resistance. If my robot is trying to move and I try to hold the servos in place the power consumption peaks around 7 amps. I used to use a wall wart type adapter too but once my robot got moving I needed to use batteries or a much stronger power supply.
Statistics: Posted by veltrop — Thu May 27, 2010 6:57 am

Just in case anyone else is looking, I got one of these from Radio Shack:

Enercell™ 6-12VDC/2.5 Amp High-Power AC Adapter. $39.99 U.S. Dollars.

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3875404

You would also need one of these to stick on the end of the cord:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3870008
They give you one free connector with purchase of the ac adapter so you can get that for free.

It seems to work well and what's cool as well is that the Enercell products have switchable connectors on the end. So when you don't need it for the roboard, you can get a different connectoid and use it for something else.
Statistics: Posted by altwolf — Thu May 27, 2010 4:57 am
