For convenience, we currently put a simple EWF tutorial on the RoBoard website; if you want to try EWF on RoBoard, you can download the tutorial from the "Application Notes" section of http://www.roboard.com/download_ml.htm

Statistics: Posted by roboard — Fri Jul 08, 2011 5:55 pm

Hi hellu
are you using your RB`s windows with the default theme & other visual effects?
we are using xp on RB too, and it was boaring to work with, but by setting system properties/advanced/performancce to "best performance", color quality to 16bit ,and reducing the resolution, it works so much better
Statistics: Posted by excalibur — Mon Apr 18, 2011 11:15 pm

hellu wrote:
I have a Kingstone class 4 card, 16 GB. The install was around 400MB. Any other ideas?

WinXP makes many accesses to disk (specially at boot), and so the MicroSD speed (specially the write speed) will hugely affect its performance.

To ease this issue, you may employ a Class 10 MicroSD, or you may install EWF, which is an XPE component that can make WinXP read-only so that all disk writes are put into memory. EWF can provide a smooth WinXP operating feeling on RoBoard.

Statistics: Posted by roboard — Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:04 am

How much of XP did you install? Using nlite I have cut out quite a lot of stuff that is unecessary my installation is roundabout 300mb - the services and stuff you dont need would be a factor (mine definitely doesnt need printer support for instance).

Also. the class of your micro SD card is a factor. With a six hour install I'm guessing that you are using a class 1 or 2 card?? To be honest, I cant see it working acceptably below a class 6 card.

Hope this helps you in some way.
Statistics: Posted by RoboFlop — Mon Jan 31, 2011 1:45 pm
