Hi everybody,

I just go a roboard 110 and I'am trying to make linux ubuntu work on it. I have followed the tutorial from
http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/tutor ... of-3-3270/
Actually, it did not work:
I have installed ubuntu 9.04 on a microSD card using vmware successfully. I reached the final step on the PC, linux 2.28-6-386 boots and works well (without the special modification of grub). Then I modified the /boot/grub/menu.lst file by adding the options "pnpbios=off acpi=off noreplace-paravirt noapic nolapic". I think I really followed the tuto in full details. But when I boot on the roboard. It does not work: I have this error
"ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/fd398d63...c76e851b5844 does not exists"
Then the system launch a busybox shell without mounting the filesystem. I have tried some other configuration of grub, but I am not a specialist..

However, I would think it could work: I have also tried to make work the roboard special kernel distributed here: http://www.roboard.com/download_ml.htm (linux-image-2.6.34.1-vortex86-sg), I followed the tuto and actually, it works perfectly! But this solution is not good for me. Indeed, this distrib is very light, in particular, there are no support for webcam, the classical modules of ubuntu supporting webcam have not been included into it. And actually, I got the roboard specially to do embedded image processing...

I would love to make the linux-386 kernel work as announced in the tutorial (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/tutor ... of-3-3270/) !

Did anyone have the same problem ?
Many thanks in advance for any answer or advise,
Moog
Statistics: Posted by moogly2 — Sat Apr 16, 2011 10:20 am
