Wirelss LAN card with Ubuntu 10.04?

This kernel version works on eBox 3350 (Vortex86MX) too.

We've tested it under Ubuntu and it works nicely. Built in LAN and Built In Audio work and Webcameras are working as well on this kernel version.

Just a quick reminder: if you're planning to use USB cameras or other USb devices check the USB setting in the BIOS (I believe it should be set to HighSpeed to enable the faster USB 2.0 protocol).

Thank you very much for posting this Kernel file.

I assume that, like other kernels, this kernel is compatible with both Votex86DX (roboard) and Vortex86MX (eBox)

For the convenience of our users, I have mirrored the Kernel file here http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/DMP/LinuxKernels/

along with some installation instructions.

We noticed the original/recommended kernel for eBox 3350 (2.6.34.1) did NOT include the UVC drivers for USB Webcams.

We're very happy this new kernel includes that as this is very much needed for OpenCV and similar applications so we'll give a try on eBox 3350 and post back the results.

The 2.6.34.10 kernel for RoBoard can now be downloaded from:

Hello

When RoBoard Team make new kernel for RB-100 with support for VT6655 ? I buy RoBoard with this wlan card and I can't use it on Debian 6.02 ... When I install kernel 2.6.34.9-vortex my UVC camera is working with modul linux-uvc and VT6655 don't work, when I install kernel 2.6.30-vortex and drivers for VT6655 I have working wlan card but my camera don't wrok (this kernel haven't uvc-linux module ?) this is madness ! Can You help me and write new kernel where will be work VT6655 and uvc-linux module ?:)

Hi, goodma,

VIA's driver is too old for new Linux kernels. You may use an older kernel instead by referring to Robomarinheiro's tutorial:

Our engineer is also working on new kernels for RoBoard to support VT6655; and we will release new kernels once the work is completed.

I am just wondering if there is a document to show how it can work in Ubuntu, or anyone has the experience of getting it work on Ubuntu 10.04? The card is not natively supported by Ubuntu 10.04 and apparently the chip is VIA VT6655.

What I’ve tried:
1.I’ve downloaded the Linux driver of VT6655, the latest one was released 2 years ago.
2.I’ve tried to compile it but got the following error:

Stop. make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/administrator/VT6655_Linux_src_v1.20.02_x86/driver' make: *** [all] Error 2

3.I tried to download the kernel source, but failed to extract it, maybe I will try some more times.
