Hi all<br /><br />(this is re-post from the original post by &quot;roboard&quot; here <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31737#31737">http://robosavvy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31737#31737</a><!-- m --> )<br /><br />We're proud to announce, the <span style="color: green">Roboard division has released a new Linux kernel version 2.6.34.10</span>.<br /><br />The special thing about it is that it includes <span style="color: green">drivers for USB Webcams + VT6655 wireless LAN card</span>.<br />In addition, the drivers for the Built in ethernet (and built in HD Audio on eBox 3350/Vortex86MX) are also included.<br /><br />This kernel version is <span style="color: green">compatible with DMP devices, including</span>:<br />- Roboard (Vortex86DX)<br />- eBox 3350 (Vortex86MX) - tested under Ubuntun 10.04 LTS. <span style="font-style: italic">For eBox this is particularly important as the initial recommended kernel (v 2.6.34.1) did NOT include drivers for USB webcams so we weren't being able to use OpenCV.</span><br /><br /><br />We can report successfully running OpenCV in real time on the eBox using a USB Webcam after upgrading to this new kernel (using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS).<br /><br />The new Kernel v 2.6.34.10 is mirrored here <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/DMP/LinuxKernels/linux-image-2.6.34.10-vortex86-sg_1.2_i386.zip">http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/DMP ... 2_i386.zip</a><!-- m --> for your convenience (or can be downloaded from the <a href="http://www.roboard.com" class="postlink">Roboard</a> website directly; advanced users can find the <span style="font-style: italic">Kernel Source code</span> on the Roboard website )<br /><br />Instructions for installation and a mirror with other kernel versions can be found under <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/DMP/LinuxKernels/">http://robosavvy.com/RoboSavvyPages/DMP/LinuxKernels/</a><!-- m --><br /><br />Regards<br />Pedro<p>Statistics: Posted by <a href="http://forum.robosavvy.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&amp;u=1061">PedroR</a> — Thu Jul 14, 2011 5:27 pm</p><hr />
