I have an SSD in my Shuttle and in my PC as a boot drive.
They are significantly faster then std SATA HDD and consume much less power.

SSD is the future!

I'll be using more 3310MX's at some point and will be fitting SSD instead of HDD to make more rugged - I'll post my findings here. Cheers

Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, there are none in stock now and not for at least 4 weeks.

Being an impatient sort, I bought a Shuttle (for less money and more grunt) to get my project under way.

I'll keep my eye on stock and maybe get one for the future.

Hi Nigel,

Haven't tried a SSD but can report that a 160GB 2.5" Samsung SATA worked fine in my 3310MX - plugged straight into the provided connector and I used the supplied screws to mount the drive.

I'm seriously considering one of these to run Linux on a 2.5" SSD SATA drive.
I have an OCZ Vertex 30Gb SSD drive I would like to run in it.

Has anyone used an SSD drive in the 3310MX-H?
Any problems or issues?

I'm hoping to realise somewhere near it's full speed potential after a failed attempt in a NAS box under Debian 6 - the support for SATA drives for Armel is extremely poor, giving worse drive performance than an old 286 PC under DOS!

I intend a LAMP server with regular RS232 updates to the MySQL db and browser based output (can be as regular as 8 second updates).
