I finally got the issue resolved . Apparently I have a couple servors connected to the incorrect port in the RC3. I ended up verifying the each servor, and that is where I came to know about the wrong port. Now I can run each motion bundled in with the CD and it works. To the prospect buyers of this robot. this is really great robot. Things to consider when building one
1. Verify each servor before assembling
2. Servors come with different cable lengths. I found out the hard way when I tried to plugin the servors to the main board it wouln't reach
3. Verify the servors again home position
4. Make sure you label the servors properly. A mislabel cable can potentially produce unwanted motions and there is a risk of damage.

Now the next step is for me to get some excellent motion files to test them ..
Statistics: Posted by grasshopper — Tue Jan 01, 2008 11:03 pm

Am I missing something?

It sounds like you haven't setup the Home position yet.

The 'crucified' pose is with all the servos zero'd but with no trim. From there, you need to follow the basic procedure to bring the robot into the Home position pose, and make sure it's saved, before the robot has a reference point to run the stockmotions correctly.

There is quite a bit of information about setting the Home position in the KHR-2HV manual, and in threads on this forum. They should be enough to get you off to a good start.
Statistics: Posted by tempusmaster — Tue Jan 01, 2008 3:21 am

I am just a consumer trying to make a purchase decision. Investing $1,000 in a hobby is a LOT of money for me, in fact, I might need to start with a used robot. I need to know everything I possibly can before making a decision to buy, and I am having trouble finding the information I want. I don't read Japanese, and using Altavista doesn't give me the full meaning of things. I have posted in each different robot category of the forums looking for similar information. I wish there was one consolidated place that could let me compare different robots on all of the different aspects I am interested in: price, servo specs, remote control, gyros, grippers, batteries, depth of support from the community, and the number of motions, etc.

Honestly, I am leaning towards the Robonova simply because I have all of my questions answered, and there seems to be more used robots available. HiTec seems to have made a better effort at supporting English speaking customers. The Kondo's may have more torque, more DOF and smoother motions, but I will have to go with the robot I feel comfortable with.
Statistics: Posted by evaderdjo — Sat Sep 08, 2007 2:45 am
