AI-Bot,

Quality control with these guys can be tricky. It depends on who you get them from, there should words be printed on these servos, "Buyer beware!" Some people love them, some people hate them. I've had one go bad on me so far. I won't be using these for ever, I use them for prototyping. They won't be in my final robot.

HI

Towerpro MG995 servos

You actually use them.
I order 4 on ebay.

But I was unlucky.
One of the servo the metal gear was missing.
Second one smoke came out when I plug into the RCB3J

The third and fourth, works fine but they are very noisy.

They were cheap only $2 but the shipping was very expensive.
I guess they make on the shipping.

I was wondering did all your MG995 works.

Hello,

They are actually Towerpro MG995 servos. I used these servos to prototype the robot I wanted to build. I will eventually once I work out the bugs, upgrade to a more powerful torque. I got these because they were really cheap, I got 24 of these for $4 each.

As for the mircrocontroller, I am playing with the RCB, the SSC-32 and one that I have made myself and also all the different software. Right now I am playing with the RCB becasue I think controling the robot with the RCB commander software would be the way to go, but of course I can't Kondo to anything in English, I so I may sell it all and go to the SSC-32 and a Stamp Board and just start playing programming that way.

It's an one going brain exercise.

Sweet!

The servos look like Futaba (I'm just guessing from what I can see of the labels), so why did you decide to go with the RCB3 over a Futaba controller like the RPU-10 or some other controller?

Every part of this bot are the Lynxmotion SES erector set brackets. The shoulders and back are from the Lynxmotion humanoid body, I cut pieces from it to make the top half of the robot.

What materials are the custom parts made of and how did you get them done?

I took the liberty to upload your picture to the RoboSavvy server because imageshack has a tendency to make pics disappear after a while.

I have the RCB-3HV, whether or not it's the new version or old I do not know, I do not about anything about new firm. Any printed materials that came with the processor and also what was on the CDs that I recieved was in Japanese. The only english manuals I got was for HTH3J software. I hope that's a little more clear.

Nice design. It's a little hard to see some of the details from that shot, but what I can see, I really like.

Going back to my question - are you using the RCB-1HV, RCB-2HV (more commonly known as the Motion Processor), original RCB-3HV, or the new RCB-3HV with the latest firmware?

Sorry, as far as I know there isn't an English version floating around out there. Which KHR are you trying to use it with?
