Hi Big,

For the remote controller, you need to check a couple of things

Open H2H and make sure the robot is connected and the "sync" box is ticked.

Click on the spanner screen and double check the two boxes are ticked as the picture below

Next, on the main screen, click on the Table button and in that screen, hit the download button to refresh your list of moves stored on the robot (top left)

Lastly, double click on the move you want to assign a remote control button to and you should see a screen like below

Hold down the key on the remote controller that you want to assign to your stored move. Whilst still holding it down, click on the reception button. If all is ok , you should see a code appear in the box. Ok it all and that should be it.
Statistics: Posted by Orac — Wed Apr 16, 2008 7:55 pm

SUCCESS !!!!!

Loads of messing about but in the end getting the Home position trimmed up correctly was the key. Having a total level desk may have helped.

All the moves now work ! i.e. the ones that come on the 1HV disk

Did not have to play with the motion files luckily

All the servos in the legs had to be correct

10 and 16 had to be set to ensure feet were parallel

11 and 17 set so that feet were 1cm apart

12, 13 & 14 and 18, 19 &20 need to be set so that the three cross head scress in the sides of the legs form a straight line as shown in the build manual

12 & 14 and 18 and 20 need to set set so the body of the robot is staright compared to the legs - this was the most crital bit I think and one that was hard to tell how it should be but having looking at every video on You Tube and a lot of trila and error I now have somethimng which works.

All moves also work with the Gyros but are all more stable with.

I hope that helps others of you who are facing the same challenge.

That was a waste of a day !!!!!!!!!

Now to get the remote control working (KRT-3) and the RCB

It would be great if someone ran a build/setup weekend
Statistics: Posted by Big — Sat Apr 05, 2008 11:22 pm

My Manoi is a very similar robot, I had endless trouble with the home position and in the end had to give up and tweak the basic moves a bit.

Also, double check the surface you test on, mine was out by a couple of degrees which made a big difference.

Orac
Statistics: Posted by Orac — Sat Apr 05, 2008 10:12 pm

I had (have) the same issues with my '1HV - very little to do with the quality of assembly IMHO - more to do with the quality of the movement files.

I did start tweaking them and had 'some' success, but to be honest i found wading through the Kondo app very dull, very time consuming and with little reward - and every time i began to get somehwere with it, the battery always runs out of juice.

So my 1HV (along with my other 'bots) has become a rather attractive (and expensive) wall sculpture (think a 'bot version of hilda ogden's 3 flying ducks)...

...well, until i have time to sit around fiddling with it.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that the 1HV will only ever reach it's true potential with a full compliment of the expensive Kondo high torque servos - from what i can gather the slick kondo movie clips feature bots with stronger/faster servos - which makes a huge difference too.

It might sound like i've got a downer on him, but in truth, when i have the cash i'll give him a HT servo make over and have another crack.

ney saying aside, i do hope you have better luck than me (and from the obvious derth of other available motions) and everyone else.

PS I'd still like to get hold of THIS move - best one i've seen the 1hv perform. Help please guys

I have now got the 1HV up and running

He can perform all the standard moves..... except he can't get up after the pressups and he cannot do the get up either in the face down or up positions?

Where should I start ?

Do the standard moves need some adjusting ? The percived wisdom is they should work out of the box !

Is my home position off ?

Could the floor be too slippy ?

I have tried with gyros on and off and seens to make no difference - are there special setting I should be using for the gyros during this move ?

If anyone has some tips it might save me some time tomorrow morning !

Thanks in anticipation.
Statistics: Posted by Big — Fri Apr 04, 2008 9:32 pm
