Radio control from PC?

You probably want to run it from your PC then and write your own program for it. Shouldn't be to hard but it will be very time consuming.

What are your recommendations for modding a wireless serial interface? Which would be the fastest and work the best with the RCB3HV. I am new to robotics so I am not all that familiar with the parts and programing side of it. Thanks for your input..

Ultimately I would like to get the rcb3hv to run autonomously with the help of roborealm or other vision based programs..

Its just for radio control. But you could Velcro a wireless usb adapter to it I suppose and make your own so you could use both wirelessly.

Is it possible to use it as a high speed serial interface? For editing motions from the pc or reading gyro, and voltage readings from the rcb3? Or is it just a usb/radio transmitter.

Yes you can control the 2hv and 1hv from your PC wirelessly. This is all you need. http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/ ... ntrol.aspx

And it comes with all the software you need to control it. Easy to hook up and use.

It works, though the info on that particular listing is for use with the original KHR-1. You should contact Limor and confirm the latest option kit part number and link.

In any case, there is a small receiver module that mounts on the robot and a cable that plugs into the robot controller (RCB-3 or RCB-3J depending on the robot.

The USB dongle plugs into your PC. The PC side transmitter is the object just to the left of the USB dongle in the photo, and has a screw on the top to attach the transmitter antenna.

At that point, you can use some of the Kondo applications to wirelessly control the robot from your PC, or write your own. It's pretty straight forward to interface a PS2 gamepad for control.

That being said, you might be able find some other PC to KHR robot remote control strategies by doing a little searching around.
