isobot wrote:
Thanks so much I an looking at Kondo products for my khr, and I will probably go with the two gyros and one accelerator they offer on their upgrade page hopefully it all works out...

Do not buy the KRG-1 gyros. They were designed for the original KHR-1 robot 4+ years ago. You can make them work with the KHR-2HV, but won't get the full benefit.

The KRG-3 gyros are correct for the KHR-2HV and 1HV. You need two. Please read the documentation before trying to install them. Actually, it would be best to study it before you make your purchase.

As far as the accelerometer goes, its primary purpose is to determine if the robot has fallen down, and which way it is facing down. You setup a set of sensor interrupts to trigger motions so that the robot can automatically stand back up. The RAS-2 is the correct accelerometer for the KHR-2HV. The older RAS-1 can be made to work, if you happen to have one handy, but beware that the connector orientation is different as well as the signal levels.
Statistics: Posted by tempusmaster — Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:37 am
