SKPang / Kondo has a new software called MotionGenerator which uses mathematical calculations to automatically create optimized walking gaits for bipedal robots.

According to Impress Robot Watch, it uses a new Kondo control board called "Motion Generator 2HV": up to 32 PWM servo motors, 8 digital, 14 analog inputs, etc which they are recommending as an upgrade over the RCB-3

It can generate motion in robots with one or two servos in the knee joint. Walking takes into account a number of factors, especially important is "bending the basic stance" , "walk", "influence the amount of weight shift" and "leg-up amount". By adjusting the parameters you can change the length of the stride for slower or faster walking gaits.

It can also handle turning during walking, and can make adjustments to the upper body's orientation to enable smooth walking gaits while walking up and down a slope.

you can see some movies at the article on Impress Robot Watch:
http://robot.watch.impress.co.jp/cda/co ... /1241.html
Statistics: Posted by Layton — Tue Aug 12, 2008 9:57 pm
