The Manoi is much more difficult to construct than the KHR.
If you get the Manoi do make sure you have a set of high quality screw drivers of different sizes and shapes.
Lipo and gyros don't explain the big difference in price.
The robots are from different brands (Kyosho and Kondo) and share the controller board and servo technology and don't really try to compete for the same market. Kondo aims in Japan at the hobby consumer whereas the Kyoso aims at the "prosumer" education market.
KHR-1HV is the same as KHR-2HV except that it has 2 more degrees of freedom. There's documentation showing how to construct and operate the KHR2HV in English. Check out also my post from last week, regarding new English documentation available.
Statistics: Posted by limor — Sun Oct 05, 2008 11:12 pm

Oh,yes, forgot about Li-Pos. There must be great gyros in PF1 to make it cost almost 3 prises of AT01(well, Li-Po expensive, but imo can't cost more than 300-400 USD).
Thanks for help!:D
Statistics: Posted by Sazabi — Sun Oct 05, 2008 4:13 am

The Manoi PF01 has a Lithium Polymer battery and 2 gyros included as standard equipment. That should explain why it costs more than the Manoi AT01. The big difference between the Manoi AT01 and the KHR-1HV is the AT01 comes with the fancy exterior shell.

However, the KHR-1HV comes with two additional servos in the legs which allow rotation at the hips, and it costs less!

In any case, the manuals and software for all three of these robots are in Japanese.
So unless you are fluent, none of these robots are a great choice, especially for a beginner.

You can compare for yourself here
Statistics: Posted by RobotServicesGroup — Sun Oct 05, 2008 2:49 am

Hi!
I was trying to look closer to KHR and Manoi, to choose one to buy, but as i found they absolutely same! Only bodyshell is different. So money difference is only for body?and manoi pf01 not much differs from at01, but costs much more... What your advise?
Thanks!
Statistics: Posted by Sazabi — Sat Oct 04, 2008 9:18 pm
