Hi guys,

a few updates today...

I have finished the armoring of the left and right knee protectors.

ri. knee protector (with laser hit)

le. knee protector (with troop badge)

le. leg - almost fully assembled

Looks like a kit you can buy on the market. Really professional. The movements of the finished robot will be interesting e.g. getting up from fall.

If you would like to see my videos you have to wait even longer time.

missile launcher

Sometimes I play on my iPhone "HeavyMach 2". This mech can be upgraded with weapons, armor and more. Inspired by this game I built a missile launcher for the left side of the torso.

(the pic shows the semi-finished launcher)

The torso is completely constructed and ready for primer.

I wanna represent a mixture of reactive armor and ferro fibrous armor. Therefore I built the lower hull from untreated polystyrene and the upper hull with some changes.
I soaked the surface with plastic glue and processed them with a toothbrush.

some parts sprayed with Tamiya Color "Dark Yellow"

(remember it' s the first of three spray layer)

It' s a long way to the top - to be continued...

feet extension (prototype)

I' ve built with polystyrene 0,5 / 0,75 / 1 and 2 mm thickness. The screws are made of stainless steel and 2 mm in diameter (M2 metric).

Hi guys, I am interested, how you people assembling the the parts of robot. I want to gather some preliminary idea. The photographs are really informative. I have also heard that, the new H2H-4 software is relatively simple to use. What is the software you are using to build KHR-3HV.

unfortunately, NO...

The "rail gun" and "missile launcher" are dummies. When I programmed the gaits and motions and the servos aren' t overheated, I play with the idea to install the mechanic of soft-air weapons (e.g. from soft-air battle tanks).

First I have to check the total weight.

I bought some polystyrene and aluminum for the armor. Overall, I don' t want to spend more than 500 g of additional weight. The servo shouldn' t be overused.

As a base color I choose dark yellow from Tamiya (spray paint). I would prime with Tamiya primer for plastic and metal (fine, grey spray paint) before.

I precipitated the digital camouflage pattern. e.g.

It' s a long way to completion...

Hi Russell,

thanks a lot - the KHR-3HV looks really good.

Sorry, no vids cause I wanna build my own robot like a mech.
Currently I disassembled the robot to change the servo from the arms to chest for hip- and waist-rotation.
My "Mech" get reverse knee joints and a hull.
In the next time I' m forming a body armor made of polystyrene.

In foreseeable future I will get two gyro sensors (to control x and y axis - right/left and forward/reverse). It make no sense to install only one.

The new H2H-4 software is relatively simple to use. I just experimented with the buttons and load all pre-programmed motions from CD and tested it.
Because I wanna build my own Mech I use the software V1.0 from the disk. The updated version V1.1 don' t work correctly. I don' t know why - I think it' s the updated version for the 5 more DOF.

But for the final programming I need the english manual for exploit all functions.

Your robot looks great! How are you managing using the Japanese Heart 2 Heart software? Any vids of it moving? Did you get 2 gyro sensors or just 1?
