Video is now available. Look at the location mentioned above.

See what he can do with one strong leg.

Do not try to do this with your KHR-1 or KHR-2HV! Might burn your servos.

regards
noDNA
Statistics: Posted by noDNA — Sun Jul 30, 2006 7:27 pm

Project accomplished!

I did finish the KHR-1 strong 20kg/cm version now. I call it "Steelpump".

A complete KHR-1 with 16 KRS-2350 and 1 KRS-786 (head) servos.
Check my shop and forum (Moderator apologize) to see details, do not want to type them twice. But I am ready to take questions.

Specs are: twice as strong as KHR-2HV. Fully compatible with all KHR-1 software and accessories. Full metal gears. Ball bearing in gear. Special knee enforcers. New chest, new shoulder. Same size, demo motions work fine.

regards
noDNA
Statistics: Posted by noDNA — Thu Jul 27, 2006 5:07 pm

Lets see how many servos I really need.
If foot is still the old servo then the leg servo count with strong servos is 4 per leg = 8 total....uff here goes the first 1000 EUR. I better ask Kondo for volume prices...
Having done the legs he will still not be able to do pushups with one arm....
noDNA
Statistics: Posted by noDNA — Tue Jul 04, 2006 7:51 pm

Hi all,
just wanted to mention I managed to change the original KRS786 (8,7kg/cm) servos to the strong KRS2350 (20kg/cm) ones using the same aluminium structure as KHR-1 has, so no modifications needed except:
shoulders (hole too small)
hip (hole too small)

The KRS2350 servo has metal gears and works with 6V, so it is good for KHR-1. Dimensions are nearly the same, they fit. You have to cut off the screw holders left and right of the servo which are already cut off when Kondo ships the KRS786 servos.

The KRS2350 servo has a bigger passive axis. To make things easy you simply use the back of your KRS786 servo. Then you need to fit in a spacer, I did not construct this part yet but I will drill some with my CNC in some days, works fine for tests without spacer, just used a tape to protect from dust.

Being able to replace weak joints with this simple solution I will replace more joints than the 2 I have done today. Just have no more KRS2350 in house, they are pretty expensive, about 130EUR but hey, cannot wait to see monster KHR-1 lifting up the KHR-2HV!

I will post some photos of the servo swap when I have milled the spacer. Later I will mill the chest and shoulder parts. If someone is interested I can even produce a small series of upgrade packs,
regards
noDNA
Statistics: Posted by noDNA — Tue Jul 04, 2006 4:33 pm
