I think that might have been true with the previous beta. In the August version there are some examples of 6DOF arms so i don't see why it would be a problem with the KHR2.

I might try to use an old KHR1 model and modify it a bit to see what i can do. It will certainly go faster than me remodelling the KHR2 from scratch.

I'll keep posting how i am doing.
Statistics: Posted by shsan — Fri Aug 11, 2006 1:33 am

There was a similar discussion on the Simulation & Graphics forum. see http://robosavvy.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=418

Although I have not used the Robotics studio yet it appears that it currently is quite limited for complex humanoid robots.

Quote from the discussion:

"main problem with this beta is that it has no support for advanced joints (yet) so any other types of robots except for rolling ones are impossible to simulate in it for now. "

Hope this will not deter you - look forward to hearing how you get on.
Statistics: Posted by BillB — Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:11 pm

Now that i have built my KHR2, i want to start to program some stuff.
I will be porting the KHR1 services that are inside the August SDK to KHR2 with the RCB3-J (and perhaps the motion controller if i can get the specs).

I hope to have that done before the middle of next week.

However i was wondering if there was someone crazy enough here to do the 3D model for it ?

That will be necessary once we want to use the simulator.
Statistics: Posted by shsan — Thu Aug 10, 2006 4:20 pm
