speed: 28sec/60 degree"
didi you mean 28 sec if you did isn't that a bit slow I mean 28 secs to movew there it would be a slow robot.

Yes, I agree 28 sec/60 degree is very slow for making small robot like
Robonova-1 and Kondo.

(I think Robo1 weight 1.5kg and uses 7kg/cm with 14 sec/60 degree)

But if a robot weight 10+Kg and 1 meter in heigh.
We have to design a servo that trade speed for torque.
15x times the torque, but only 2x slower.... which is enough for large scale robot.
(Could design a servo with 200kg/cm and 14 sec/60 degree.... but the cost of manufacturing would be $250+++ which does not make any sense for us to do.) Most of the average person could not afford to buy it.

The robot we are designing is not jumpy around like you seen with Robonova1 and kondo...(which is very cool), but we design our robot to interact with people and surroounding which we don't really need speed for it. We have checked all the major robot company doing large scale robot, and they are really slow, I guess they trade speed for power. and they cost over $200,000. (include Honda, yamaha, Fujitsu, and robtix)

We are trying it make it cost under $8,000 with the spec above.

we would love to make a high torque with fast speed for under $20,but it is very hard, since everything is in house make and in small quanlity.
Asking manufacture to do custom design for small number... the cost is very high.

Anyway, thanks for the input.
Statistics: Posted by AI-Bot — Sat Oct 07, 2006 10:28 pm

Hi all.

We are almost done in custom design servo for robot.

Version 1
weight: 125g
Torque: 105kg/cm !!!!
voltage: 6-7.2
rotational: 180 degree
speed: 28sec/60 degree
price: $60-70 still working on the manufacture cost.
We selling almost at cost since this is more of a hobby.

version 2
weight: 155g
Torque: 32Kg/cm
voltage: 6-7.2
rotational: 360 degree
speed: 10sec/60 degree
price: $50-60

We are currenly, making a robot using our custom servo.
1.0 meter in height. (still working on it)
(the design is base on kondo robot RJ3 connect to our internal cpu and os.
battery: mercury polymer
memory: 8Gig solid state memory of OS
Voice Recongtion: YES
Speech: Yes
Read: Basic reading, and basic number.
DOF: 24
Face Recongtion: almost done
Security Feature: Motion detech,

We are hoping to have a demo run within 2 weeks

Feature that we are still working on it/ or near finish.

Special Feature:
Automatical Mode with AI
- 8 pixel Thermal Array Sensor, Proximity Detector, Reflective sensor
- Touch Sensor, Humidity Sensor, Distance Sensor, Motion Sensor, Pressure Sensor, Temperature Sensor
- able to move around the surrounding without hitting the wall.
- Learning capacity to move from ROOM A to B by itself.
(need to teach it 1-2 times, which automatically upload to central data.)
- able to walk up the step and stair...finally!
- able to open the door; push and pull action (open for family member in the house)
- able to do push-up, sit-up and sit; more human like move
- able to hold a broom, will be able to sweept the floor (working on sharp corner)
- able to vacuum the room
- able to turn on tab water open and close. (almost done)
- able to bring/carry a glass/coffee mug when requested by the owner; max weight 1.4kg
- able to pour a water bottle into a glass.
- able to bend down and pick up oject ie. baseball bat.
- Recongnition of owner face and voice open door for family member
- Speech Recongnition engine using Le Speech with learning capacity auto send to central data.
- Voice Recongnition engine using Le Recongnition with learning capacity auto send to central data.
- Text Reading engine using Le Reading: must be 22 font size with learning capacity auto send to central data.
- abled to retrieve informations from www or central data when requested by the owner.)
ie. Owner will say, " What is today weather." The robot should recongnize by the owner voice
and replay back the weather from the www or central data system.
This include, weather, stock, pizza store location, flight time/delay etc.
- Able to keep track if the owner is in the house or not; keep track in the internal data.
- Best of all, it will greed you when you get home (face recongnition and voice recongnition)
(Currently face recongnize only in the front not back or side)

- DEFENCE MODE: 3 types
If someone enter the house which the robot does NOT recongnize. It will auto set to defense mode:
It will MSN alert to the owner (with picture), and dial to the owner cellular phone.
IT will shoot out red beam at the moving object for targeting object (currently TOY gun only)
bascially in defense mode shoot anything that move within range... 30-40 feet and it won't miss!!!

Manual Mode.
- Can change to manual mode from the office using internet browser.
- Internet browser will have a view which can be seen through the robot eyes (greyscale)
- Control all functional operations through the browser...
walking, arm movement,speech,voice,reading,
- Access the central data.
- Check your kids is sleeping or watching TV from the office.
Can type from the browser "Go to sleep", the robot translate to voice "Go to sleep" from home[/img]
Statistics: Posted by AI-Bot — Sat Oct 07, 2006 4:09 am
