This new exteruder (the MK6) is supposed to ship witht he next batch of Makerbots we'll be receiving.

We've also received a hint that price may be increasing with the inclusion of this new Extruder (MK6). For now, we're still selling them at their original price.

So if you're looking for a Makerbot you can place your order online now to guarantee yours since supply is very scarse (even Makerbot is having a 7 week lead time due to the high demand).

Anyway, back to the MK6 Extruder:
- Rumours that it will support 1.8 fillament.
- Upgraded motors (maybe).

We've also received a Makerbot yesterday and will begin assembly tomorrow.
I suspect this one we received already comes with the new MK6 StepStruder.

It seems Makerbot is preparing an upgrade to their extruder (the MK5) and they've named it the MK6 StepStruder.

The Extruder is the part of the machine that receives the plastic, heats it and deposits it layer by layer to build your model.


We haven't been able to uncover much of what's new with this extruder but we know Makerbot is planning/trying to include it with their next batches of Thing o Matics.

We'll let you know as soon as we have more information on this.
