We're happy to announce we'll soon be stocking plastic (ie 1.75mm Fillament) from the US vendor Village Plastics in addition to the plastic from Makerbot.
The new plastic adds newer types of colour and is slightly less expensive.
We've been testing this new plastic over the past weeks and printed a complete V8 engine with multiple colours:

This was done in our Thing o Matic with Stepstruder MK6 Plus (no tricks with Dualstrusion yet).
The way we've done was to insert a small piece of plastic and when the piece is reaching the end, insert another colour right after it into the extruder so that both colours mix in a continuous flow of plastic inside the extruder.
The results are very nice and the piece is fully functional: it has a handle on the side that you use to turn and see the pistons and everything moving. Very cool!
