Robotis DARwIn-OP • Anyone selling a OP?

Hi - even though I have no real need for it, I am itching to get an OP (and I have way too many bioloids already - just can shake this want!). I know the OP2 is out, and is cheaper than the first version, but it still is out of my budget. If youre selling, send me a PM - thank you!

Has anyone ever tried to change the MX-28 with XL320? I have been trying to do this but to no avail. I thought about using arduino to connect the XL to, darwin, but i cant make the servo work with action editor.

Any help from you would be greatly appreciated!

Well from the types of robot ive seen this past month i can certainly say that while i admire people starting with line following bots that is not what I'm after. Below is a list of things id like on it

Distance calculator. Facial recognition. Temperature sensor. Led mouth that shows mood. Lcd or possibly a small 5" screen to show status or activity. Touch sensors in hands and toes incase in bumps into things and detect if contact is made with objects. Voice recognition. Hard power switch which is directly linked to battery. Gps. It would be nice to have it all controlled by my raspberry pi. But don't think it will be powerful enough which is why i thought the odroiud x3u may help.

Very ambitious i know but it'd be nice for it to learn and interact with its surroundings and people.

Hi all. My very 1st post on here. Im seriously considering getting into robotics again. I don't have a huge budget. I have seen a few nice pre built robots but nothing stands out to me that is built with a Rpi which i have spare. Would it be beneficial to buy a Darwin mini or build using a open board such as rpi or a ODROID-XU3? If only i could afford Nao lol

Hi,
Is it possible to program Darwin Mini to be totally autonomous?
So it has it's own personality etc ? (Similar to a sony aibo or qrio)
Does the voice recognition only work through the smartphone app, or is it possible to add voice recognition to the robot itself?

EDIT.

Is it possible to include AIML into the programming, and allow the robot move with responses etc ?
Would the programming allow the robot to remember responses etc ?

Hey.

I'm writing code to the DarwinOp. I'm trying to turn off torque of a MX28 from inside the code.

This action is possible; actioneditor's main() do the exactly same thing in their code with the function OnOffCmd():

This is their function:

I'm trying to imitate this action. I copied the exactly same code (without ReadStep() and DrawStep()). I initialized cm730 as in the actioneditor main(). I called an action with m_action->Start() so the MX28's will be with torque on
and then I tried to call to OnOffCmd() with the following parameters: OnOffCmdtest(&(cm730), false, 0, NULL);
-> It supposed to turn off all engines (like in the action editor, when you write the command: "off" but nothing happened and the MX28's was not shut down.

The strange thing is that other commands of WriteByte() do succeed. such as:
WriteByte(CM730::ID_CM, CM730::P_DXL_POWER, 0, 0)
It does turn off the cm730.

Can you help me? Do you need any further information such as my initialization code and my main() ?
