Robot source.org pointing to spring note and can't find detail instructions on forgesource. Any one has the software installation manual. I just want to install Ubuntu virtually on my pc and start playing around.

I heard springnote is not being used any more for darwin related stuff. there's sourceforge and robotsource.org

I am a bit sceptical about open source. With no step by step guide and a community of people who have done it, I find compiling c++ scary.
